Who We Are

We f*ck with new writing.

Big time. 

After two sold out scratch nights, eight banging plays, and a shedload of actors, writers, and creatives wanting to get involved, we realised we are onto something good here. And so, F*ck Around, Find Out, the new writing night on everyone’s lips, has become FAFO Productions. (Don’t worry, we’ll still do new writing nights, duh).

At a FAFO night, we give the power to the audience, and they get to vote for ‘the play they want to see more of’ - the one they didn’t want to end. This short play gets development support to build a full draft, and then we platform this to the industry, and why not, to the world

Here you can see the work we’re making, and who we are, and news about our winners. We’re all about debut plays, we love actor-writers, and we take our work very seriously - we just don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Our team

Elizabeth Hollingshead

Founder & Artistic Director

Elizabeth trained on the BA Acting at RADA. 

She began as an Artistic Associate of the female-led theatre company OPIA Collective, assistant directing various productions since 2017. She has been 1st AD and acting coach on multiple short films, coaches professional and emerging actors, and has facilitated workshops with the charities Compass Collective and Haringey Shed, and works at Clean Break. As an actor, her TV/Film work includes: Dune: Prophecy (HBO), The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde, and Yamas! (HeadRush Films). Theatre credits include: Storehouse, Yamas! (Park Theatre); Maryland (Riverside Studios) As You Like It, Consent, The Seagull (RADA). As a writer, she was part of Pentabus Theatre Company’s National Young Writers Scheme, her first short film is currently in development.

Producer & Executive Director

Spiky also trained at RADA, she designed and directed the immersive escape room Flat 11B, combining theatre, design, and interactive storytelling.

Under the mentorship of Jamie Lloyd, she directed VIRGIL by Maeve Roscoe at the Harold Pinter Theatre in 2022. In 2024, through PlaceHold Productions, she produced and directed the three-time sell-out play Maar, Dora at the Old Red Lion Theatre. Her recent work includes directing for Theatre503’s Rapid Write Response and Lives We Lived by Athanasie Munyaneza at the Omnibus Theatre in 2025. She is currently directing a week run of Joe Judd’s We Dance In Fire at the Golden Goose.
